THEORY COFFEE
Community members have expressed concerns and raised many "theories" about the ownership of Theory Coffee and Summit Lofts in Mt. Shasta.
The property located at 103 E. Lake St / 228 N Mt Shasta Blvd is owned by Skylight Holdings, LLC
Theory Coffee's space dowstairs from The Lofts is leased by Sam LaRobardiere, a Redding- and now Mt. Shasta-based business owner who founded Theory Collaborative in partnership with the founder and CEO of Bethel Music, Joel Taylor.
LaRobardiere has multiple large contracts in Redding coinciding with major Bethel investments like the Redding Airport, and the Redding Civic Auditorium.
Theory Coffee profits significantly from projects in which Bethel is involved.
Mr. LaRobardiere is not simply a tenant of 228 N Mt Shasta Blvd.
He has a longstanding relationship with the building's owners, and in fact, purchased a home from them. They are or were Bethel elders, which means they adhere(d) to Bethel's White Christian Nationalist and anti-LGBTQIA+ agenda. They have links on the Bethel website, yet are not listed in the staff directory so it is unclear what their current relationship is to Bethel. What is known is that at one time, they embraced Bethel's doctrines.

Properties:
Note - residents, especially those in Shasta County, say properties owned by Bethel affiliates feature signature dark gray paint with natural wood paneling and often look very out of place.
This residence is currently owned by Sam LaRobardiere, and was owned previously by April LaFrance, Josh LaFrance, Christian Taylor, and Holly Taylor. It was called "Basecamp House," not to be confused with the two couples' other property on Ski Village, "Basecamp Lodge."
