Siskiyou County
Many local residents have voiced concerns in the past several years about the influx of Bethel affiliated people purchasing commercial properties and homes, later converted to short-term rentals, as this was how Bethel quickly gentrified the neighborhoods surrounding the church, and will gentrify neighborhoods around the new campus. Siskiyoubethelwatch.org has elected to identify only those with deep, documented ties to Bethel and who own multiple businesses and short-term rentals in both Redding and South Siskiyou County. None had existing ties in South Siskiyou County before investing in real estate in the area.

The "Theory" is that Bethel and other adherents to the New Apostolic Reformation encourage their members and affiliates to invest in real estate in Northern California so they can ultimately gain control over the government, chambers of commerce, schools, etc. in an ultimate bid to control a massive area of California's natural resources. Theoretically, the ramp-up of purchases made by megachurches and their affiliates are being made in anticipation of Donald Trump's continued regime and his anticipated fulfillment of campaign promises made to evangelicals. ​

Siskiyoubethelwatch.org has identified at least 18 individual investors with current or past ties to Bethel Church of Redding who have purchased commercial plus residential properties in South Siskiyou since 2020. Most of the properties, commercial and residential, are short-term rentals. Below is a list of local business owners with direct, documented ties to Bethel. Others have documented attendance at Bethel in the past, and may have received support from Bethel affiliates, yet are not employed by or directly involved with Bethel leadership. It is a widely held belief that some people simply may not know of Bethel's ultimate mission or its avid anti-LGBTQIA+ rights lobbying, or another THEORY is they simply may not care, as they are making a profit with the help of Bethel affiliates.
